About Gym Prints
I’m Marcus Steele, and I’ve spent the last fifteen years in gyms, first as the guy who couldn’t afford a trainer and had to figure everything out from books and trial and error, and later as the trainer other people hired to save them that same trouble.
I got into fitness late, honestly. I didn’t play sports growing up, and I didn’t set foot in a real gym until I was twenty-two and out of shape enough that a flight of stairs left me winded. Fixing that became a bit of an obsession, and within a few years I’d gone from confused beginner to working the front desk at a local gym just to get a free membership, to eventually getting certified as a personal trainer and building a small client base of my own.
These days I split my time between training clients in person and writing here, and honestly the two feed each other. Every article on this site comes out of a real conversation I’ve had with a real client, whether that’s someone asking why their progress stalled, someone trying to eat better without turning their whole life upside down, or someone just trying to figure out if a piece of equipment is actually worth the money.
I keep the content here practical on purpose. I’m not interested in trends that disappear in six months. I write about training programs I’ve actually run people through, food and nutrition habits that hold up under a busy schedule, and gear that survives more than a month of regular use. If something doesn’t work, I say so, even if it means telling you not to buy the thing everyone’s talking about.
Most of my clients are regular people trying to fit fitness into an already full life, not competitive athletes, and that’s who I write for here too. No extreme diets, no shame about missed workouts, just straightforward information from someone who has coached a lot of people through it.
Outside the gym, I’m usually cooking too much food for one person or arguing with my brother about which one of us has the better home gym setup. If you’ve got a question about something on the site or a topic you want covered, reach out through the contact page.
